The seventh annual Napa Valley Arts in April showcases over 40 arts and culture events across the Napa County from American Canyon to Calistoga. In addition to the independently produced events that dot the idyllic valley at wineries, museums and galleries, the county will host five central city events that celebrate each town's unique scene including Calistoga, St. Helena, Yountville, Napa and American Canyon. Wine tasting is woven throughout this unique experience offered by HALL, a modern winery that showcases some of the most eclectic contemporary art in the Napa Valley. Guests are invited to enjoy tastings of new wine releases as they embark on a walking tour around the property showcasing some of the most influential artists working today such as John Baldessari, Jaume Plensa, Jim Campbell, and others. Designed to nurture your soul and ignite your imagination, the Wine and Art Exploration experience is offered Complimentary each Sunday at 11AM.
Rutherford Ranch Winery will host an afternoon with local artist Tim Howe. Tim's works reflect his contemporary interpretation of landscapes, showcasing his unique ability to incorporate the disciplines of both Abstraction and Impressionism. Tim believes there are no boundaries in nature; therefore sometimes the lines are blurred. His artistic impressions lie between the two. Experience his work in action and spend an afternoon with Tim as he paints in their beautiful Abela vineyard setting.
St. Helena's Lyman Park will come alive with arts and culture for the town's celebration of Napa Valley's Arts in April. "Arts in the Streets" is a nod to the beautiful complexity of St. Helena's modern and multicultural identity from generations of winemaking families to their rich Latino community. In the spirit of this theme, the park will come alive with community interactive art with Nimbus Arts, poetry from the Napa Valley Writer's Conference, culinary delights from the Napa Valley Cooking School and music from local bands across the valley.
On Saturday, April 22 join the quaint town of Yountville (a short five-minute drive from SENZA) for the fifth annual premier Art Festival in Yountville ~ Art, Sip, and Stroll. From 11AM-5PM, Washington Street will come alive with over 40 local and regional artists sharing their talents with you. For $20, participants will receive a tasting wristband and glass granting access to tasting from over 12 wine stops along the route.
Napa Valley Performing Arts Center at Lincoln Theater – April 22, 2017
The extraordinary dancers of the internationally acclaimed Diablo Ballet bring some of their most stunning and expressive works yet to the Lincoln Theater stage. The Pas de Deux and Coda from Marius Petipa's Raymonda, a true classic among the international ballet repertoire, showcases Diablo Ballet's technical brilliance and artistry. Choreographer Robert Dekker's Carnival of the Imagination follows a young child on a whimsical journey through a world of dragons, unicorns, pixies and panda bears in this fantastical production. Last but not least, Three to Tango by dance legend Sally Streets, is a sexy yet reverent exploration of tango performed to live music. The evening will close with a short film, Aeterna XXI, created for the company's 21st Anniversary by award-winning filmmaker Walter Yamazaki and featuring the Diablo Ballet dancers' athleticism, beauty, and strength.
Join Jessica Lawrenz, the 2017 Cheesemonger Invitational winner, as she teaches how to create the perfect cheese plate. Jessica currently resides in San Diego and mentors the cheese lovers at Venissimo Cheese Shop. She is excited to mentor you as you assemble the perfect plate with local artisan cheese and accouterments. Grouped with three others to assemble your tray, Jessica will share her techniques and tricks of the trade. The workshop will conclude with a perfectly paired St. Supéry Estate wine tasting, hosted by Estate Sommelier, Tom Markakis, while enjoying your freshly made cheese plate.
