The Wine Walk showcases a range of the Napa Valley's finest labels, from small-production bottlings to world-famous wineries. In a single mile—with the dramatic backdrop of rolling mountain vineyards—visitors can taste, shop, and enjoy nineteen different tasting experiences. This handy map shows how easy it is to taste your way through town, and not only that: you can pick up a "stamp card" to earn prizes for having visited 5, 10, or 15 different locations along the Wine Walk. The stamps are good for up to two years, so you don't have to do it all in one trip, and the prizes include discounts and free treats at area boutiques, bakeries, and special experiences, like hot air balloon rides.
Today, we'd love to introduce a few of our favorite stops on the Wine Walk. Join us below for a quick virtual tour!
At Stewart Cellars, guests get to sample a little bit of everything. That's because this family-owned and -run business partners with local growers to showcase fruit from a variety of appellations across California wine country. Try their Sonoma Mountain Chardonnay for crisp lemon and lime flavors, or more traditional Napa Valley offerings like the Merlot or Malbec.
For a unique experience, you can't miss the NOMAD Collection, which features vineyard designate bottlings of Cabernet Sauvignon from famous Beckstoffer Heritage Vineyards. Several different tastings are available to suit your palate, though reservations are required for wine-and-chocolate pairings or NOMAD flights. And you won't want to miss Southside Café's onsite location—it's another family-owned local business with everything from specialty coffee drinks to a full menu of fresh entrees, salads, and treats! This Yountville tasting room is open daily from 11 AM to 6 PM but you'll want to keep an eye on the winery's calendar for special events.
This playful label chose a name that speaks both to the origins of the winery as well as to the experience it hopes to give guests and fans. The founders come from the world of luxury cruise lines--hence the reference to the trident, trademark of the Greek god of the ocean, Poseidon--and say they love the layered depth of calm (and "silver") seas.
The winery strives to produce richly nuanced bottlings through a meticulous, hands-on approach: hand-picking and hand-sorting ensures only the best and brightest fruit makes it into the final product. And what a product! Try the red blend "Playing with Fire" for chocolate, cherry, and vanilla characters, or the "Twenty Seven Fathoms" Cabernet for "layers of ripe, dark, summer berries." To experience these wines, visit Silver Trident's luxurious "Tasting Home" in Yountville, where there's no bar--only a living room, dining room, and library for intimate, relaxed tasting experiences unique in the Napa Valley.
Though "champagne" can only be produced in the Champagne region of France, the Napa Valley's Domaine Chandon produces world-class sparkling wines that reflect the character of the region, showcasing rich fruit and flavors. In fact, Domaine Chandon is the perfect place to celebrate on your trip to the Napa Valley, because the winery's Visitor Center in Yountville is like no other.
