New Yountville Restaurants Showcase the Best of Napa Valley Dining
At SENZA Hotel, we love Yountville's restaurant scene. It's tough not to, with the town's world-famous French Laundry, fresh muffins at Bouchon Bakery, and cocktails by the fire pits at the R + D Kitchen. Yountville, described by many as the heart of Napa Valley, attracts some of the finest culinary talent in the world. And not only are the menus carefully crafted and shaped by the bounty of seasonal ingredients from local farms and dairies, but the atmosphere – rolling vineyards, a horizon cluttered with mountains, and the perfect year-round weather -- cannot be beat!
Below, join us on a brief tour of the newest standouts in Yountville's restaurant scene. During your stay at SENZA Hotel, we're happy to book you reservations at your favorite, or all three!
The Restoration Hardware showroom in Yountville isn't quite like anything else we've ever seen: gorgeously decorated spaces beckon customers to explore carefully crafted details, while an outdoor lounge invite them to sit and relax a while. Private design suites offer customers personalized assistance by appointment, and you can also eat or taste wine right there on the showroom's enormous campus! While you might not associate the high-end furniture and décor brand with fine cuisine, RH Restaurant embraces the Napa Valley palate for complex flavors and elite wines. The dinner menu ranges in style from luxury comfort food like the RH Burger to classic dishes like roast chicken and ribeye steak. Dine in the opulent indoors, or linger over dessert in the romantic courtyard. One highlight is definitely the wine vault, retrofitted into the historic Yountville Ma(i)sonry building. Make time for a wine tasting before or after you eat!
Coqueta 6525 Washington St. Yountville, CA 94599 (707) 244-4350
Among Chef Michael Chiarello's newer projects is Coqueta, named for the Spanish word for "flirt" or "infatuation." Dining here is like flirting with classic flavors of Spanish cuisine, from small plates and "snacks" to tapas and family-style dishes. Chiarello's passion for innovation incorporates a number of culinary influences into his comprehensive menu at Coqueta, from the "Patatas Xips y Salsa Aperitivo," a kind of chips and salsa meets chips and vinegar to the "Sunny side-up Huevo" with shrimp and pine nuts. Desserts are not to be missed (we love the "Churro Fantasia" with drinking chocolate) and the cocktail list offers an array of unusual twists on classic drinks. This popular hotspot definitely requires a reservation, but is well worth planning ahead for!
La Calenda 6518 Washington St. Yountville, CA 94599 (833) 682-8226
Thomas Keller is a fixture in Napa Valley -- never mind his international celebrity! Famous favorites like French Laundry, Bouchon, and Ad Hoc are constants in the best and brightest of wine country dining, but Keller recently set his sights on something more casual. Named for the traditional Oaxacan parade that often signifies major celebrations, La Calenda celebrates Oaxacan cuisine with local ingredients as well as produce, supplies, and décor from Oaxaca. Chef de Cuisine Kaelin Ulrich Trilling, a Oaxacan native, leads the restaurants aesthetic and ethos, creating festive, flavorful dishes for dining-in or carrying out. Sample several of the tacos from a long list of options, or several of the entrees that incorporate the famous regional mole sauce. You'll definitely want to pop in long enough to try a drink or two from the tequila-centric cocktail and spirits list!
When you book your Napa Valley vacation at SENZA Hotel, we're happy to find your perfect wine tasting, dining, and shopping destinations. Let us help you make an unforgettable wine country experience today!
